Yesterday Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb issued Executive Order 20-08 directing Indiana residents to remain at home to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This order is takes effect today, March 24, at 11:59 pm, and remains in place until 11:59 pm on April 6.
Under this order, real estate is listed as an essential business (including appraisal and title services), which means that REALTORS® may continue to help their clients find the comfort of home in the midst of current circumstances and events. However, in an effort to remain safe and follow all precautions, this is not business as usual.
During the process of real estate transactions, it is imperative that we all (brokers, buyers, and sellers) follow the travel and social distancing requirements of the executive order. These requirements can be found in number 16, section A, and number 17, but here are the main points:
