The nights are getting colder! Don’t you just want nothing more than a nice, cozy bedroom to snuggle up in for a long winter’s nap? Just like clothing, many people add extra layers to their bedroom during the winter months to make it cozier and more comfortable. Here are some ideas for you to add an extra layer of warmth to your bedroom!
The most important thing you can do to make your bedroom feel more cozy is to add texture. Try working different fabrics into your bedding. Maybe some flannel sheets, a furry throw or a knitted pillow. Velvet is very on trend right now so you could try working that in too for a more feminine touch. Percale sheets and duvets also give a bed a soft, cozy feel. If you’re really trying to make your room look extra cozy, try “un-making” your bed. Okay, you can still straighten it up a bit but leave it a little undone for a slept in look.
Okay, so maybe you aren’t wanting to repaint your entire bedroom this fall and winter (or maybe you are!). Even if you aren’t, you can still work some dark, cozy colors into your decor. If your room is mostly neutral, throw in some dark greys. If you’ve already got an accent color in your room try a darker shade of what you’ve already got going. Dark grey-blues and greens also work well if you’re wanting a bit more color.
The holidays are almost here so it’s totally appropriate to work some twinkle lights into your bedroom! If you’re not feeling that festive you can still get that warm holiday feel by adding in some extra candles around your room. So romantic and cozy!
