Spring is just around the corner! Can you feel it? The past few days we have been able to enjoy some warmer temps and sunshine and it’s a nice reminder that the winter season has almost come to a close. Being able to get outside again lately has reminded us of some great activities to get out and enjoy around Fort Wayne as we transition seasons. Check out some recommendations on things to do!
Parks & Trails
Did you know that Fort Wayne boasts 120 miles of trails as well as 86 amazing parks? Hop on a bike or lace up your walking shoes as you explore the trails, or enjoy one of Fort Wayne’s newest parks: Promenade Park. At Promenade Park you can walk along the treetop canopy trail, enjoy the playground if you have young children, splash in the 260-foot kids canal (as it gets warmer), eat a meal at Trubble Riverside, and relax in the porch swings that overlook the river. And this is just one of Fort Wayne’s many parks!
Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo
Families will be glad to know that the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo re-opens on April 24th this year! From Africa to Australia to Indonesia and more, learn about hundreds of animals, their habitats, and the zoo’s conservation efforts worldwide. You can also enjoy one of the zoo rides or eateries as you explore. A family favorite for sure!

As the temperatures start to rise, we are nearing the season of outdoor eating! Fort Wayne has been called a “city of restaurants”, and for good reason. With so many restaurants that have outdoor/patio seating, it’s the perfect time of year to start enjoying a meal with family and friends outdoors.
