Drive-Thru Surprise
While in the drive-thru line for your morning coffee and or lunch, let the drive-thru attendant know that you’d like to pay for the car behind you. You’ll be on your way before the car behind you gets to thank you, and you’ll get to make a difference in a stranger’s day!
Increase Tips
It’s no secret that a little extra cash around the holidays can go a long way. Next time you and your friends or family are out to eat, give an above average tip to a waiter or waitress and leave them a note letting them know that you wish them a happy holiday!
Recurring Donations
With endless organizations out there that are in need of funding – student sponsorship programs, meal programs for kids, animal shelters, etc. – think about how your family can unite for a cause that is near and dear to your hearts. Even a monthly gift of $5 can make a huge difference!
Bring Cookies to a Nursing Home
This is an opportunity that is ideal for those of you with children! Getting them involved from start to finish – baking and decorating the cookies, and hand delivering to nursing home residents – will teach them how to love others well (especially those who often don’t receive many visitors during the holidays!) and to appreciate the holiday season a little more!
Write Letters to Deployed Military Members
With thousands upon thousands of U.S. troops all around the world, there are many opportunities to send a little support, encouragement, and holiday cheer their way. This is another great opportunity to get kids involved in the process and teach them to think beyond the presents this season.
