Colder weather means more time indoors so you want your home to be a cozy place that everyone in the family can enjoy. Here are some easy tips to create a more serene home this fall.
Clutter and mess create chaos in a home. No matter the size of your home a little de-cluttering and organizing can go a long way. Start by going through your home room by room and closet by closet to get rid of stuff that is just taking up space and causing stress. Organize the things that you have left in a way that makes sense and allows for easy clean up.

Home routines may seem boring but they actually make life so much less hectic. Staying on top of chores instead of letting them build is an important part of keeping a peaceful home. Figure out what works best for you by trial and error. A good place to start is a weekly chore list that assigns different chores to each day of the week. Then work on creating morning and evening routines that you do each day. For example, make sure you’re ready for the next day by laying out outfits, packing lunches, taking out the trash and wiping down surfaces every night before you go to bed. Lastly, make meal prep part of your Sunday routine to take the stress out of cooking throughout the week!
Create a peaceful atmosphere in your home by playing music and lighting candles. Not necessarily in a romantic sort of way, but in a cozy sort of way. Even children appreciate some “chill” music in the morning while they’re eating breakfast or at night while they’re completing their bedtime routines. Minimizing technology is also important. It is hard for everyone to really relax when the T.V. is blaring and someone is playing video games, while someone else is watching videos on a tablet. Limit technology time to 30 minutes to one hour per night. You might discover an amazing book or even talk to each other! 😉
