Everyone wants to make a good first impression. The front door is the first thing a person sees when entering your home and the last thing they see when they leave, so use it to make a statement! Don't be afraid to use a bold color to really make the front of your home stand...
We all know those houses that we walk into and immediately feel at ease, as if we just walked into a vacation home. How can you bring that feeling to your home? Follow these guidelines and you can accomplish that airy feeling as well!
1. Use a non-white neutral on the walls: By using a light, but not white, neutral wall color will immediately make a room feel bigger and brighter. We all love a good white room, but save the white for other areas this time.
2. Use white to accent the room: Here comes the glorious white we all know and love. Accent the area with a big white reading chair that everyone will fight over and some white accessories such as picture frames or vases. For this look, it is nearly imperative that you paint the trim white. It will do wonders to reach that airy feel.
3. Add wood: The final step to achieve this look is to add wood. Use distressed wooden shelves throughout the room, add a wicker basket to drape cozy blanket in and add a vintage (or made to look vintage) piece of accent furniture.
By following these 3 guidelines you can feel that same airy, at ease feeling every day of the year!
