Fort Wayne Museum of Art
The Fort Wayne Museum of Art “leverages the power of art to engage and educate broad and diverse audiences throughout the region” (fwmoa.org). With new exhibitions beginning frequently, the museum presents a great opportunity to explore the arts from 19th century to modern day, past and present. For starters, check out “Alphonse Mucha: Master of Art Nouveau” beginning June 5th, or “Color X Color: Selections from the Chuck Sperry Archive,” exhibiting now.
Fort Wayne Firefighters Museum
The Fort Wayne Firefighters Museum has been “preserving the past for all to see and remember” (fortwaynefiremuseum.com) since 1974. With its goal to promote and preserve the history and artifacts of the Fort Wayne Fire Department and the Fire service in general, you’ll be able to explore a large collection of fire apparatus, uniforms, tools, and gear used throughout the years. You’ll also walk away with an understanding of fire safety.
Science Central
For those with a family or kids, Science Central has been a favorite for years and is “a regional resource that provides inspiring and fun hands-on science education for all people of all ages” (sciencecentral.org). From nature to weather to physics, escape rainy days outdoors and have fun while learning.
