Brian is originally from Bowling Green, Ohio, having moved to Fort Wayne in 1986. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University and received his Masters of Public Administration from Indiana University.
When he moved from Ohio, he left his position as District Conservationist with the USDA, Soil Conservation Service where he helped landowners survey and improve their land for various conservation practices. In 1987 he was appointed Executive Director of the Maumee River Basin Commission (MRBC) and lead the agency to successful implementation of the Maumee River Widening Project working with various local, state and federal officials on land acquisition, funding, and permit issues. During his tenure he developed subdivision land storm-water and erosion control plans, guides, and rules for developers in the Northeast Indiana area. He also assisted property owners in various flood proofing and flood prone property acquisitions.
During his time with the MRBC he served on a special FEMA agency that oversaw floodplain management issues and flood insurance by helping develop the Community Rating System.
After leaving government service, Brian began a career in the property and casualty and employee benefit insurance field as a partner with Insurance Concepts Group and then sole owner of Matrix Benefits and Consulting Group. During this time, Brian worked extensively with homeowners in managing various issues related to property claims, eventually moving to full time employee benefit consulting. In 2012, Brian merged his employee benefit firm with Assured Partners, Neace Lukens.
Brian also works in the field of higher education by providing teaching services to both Indiana Wesleyan University and Ashford University in the on-line education environment instructing public policy, entrepreneurship and environmental conservation.
Both Brian and his wife, Rebecca are excited to begin this career path and look forward to helping Northeast Indiana residents meet their real estate needs and objectives. “Our goal is to help provide our clients with exceptional, concierge level real estate services,” said Miller.
