Spring is finally on the horizon! You can almost feel it on some of those rare, sunny days. Alas, we still have a few frosty days to get through first. And if you're a gardening enthusiast, these last few weeks of winter can feel like some of the longest of the year. You're just itching...
While decorating children’s bedrooms is super fun, it can also have some challenges. You want to make the room kid-friendly, but you also want to keep things classy and stylish. Choosing a paint color is a great place to start. Unless you have a teenager or you’re super laid back about the color of your kid’s room, you might want to leave them out of the color selection process. If you really want to get your child involved, choose 2-3 colors that you like and let them pick from those. They will feel some ownership of the room and you will get a color you can live with. Looking for some ideas? Here are some lovely paint colors for boys, girls and gender neutral children’s bedrooms.
Boy bedrooms can be trickier than girl bedrooms when it comes to decorating. Its hard to strike a balance between masculine and whimsical, but that’s exactly what most parents are going for when decorating their boys rooms. When it comes to colors, blue is obviously a classic choice but try to steer away from super bright or more feminine blues. Something with gray or green undertones works great! If you’re wanting something outsidee of the blue family, green is another good go-to as is gray.
Little girls’ rooms are so fun and versatile. There are so many ways you can go with the decor whether you’re all in on the ultra-feminine look or are wanting something a little less girly. If you’re going with a classic girly-girl chic look, choose a super soft pink or purple. Like with boys’ rooms, you want to stay away from the super bright versions of these colors. If you’re looking for something less girly but still feminine, a light blue is a beautiful choice.
Whether you are pregnant and not finding out the sex of your baby or you’ve already got a boy and girl sharing a room, there are a lot of reasons why you might want to keep your children’s bedroom decor neutral (you might even just prefer that style!). Gray is definitely the most popular choice when choosing a gender neutral kids room paint color, but there are lots of other overlooked options as well! Sage green, mint, yellow and many shades of blue work beautifully for gender neutral bedrooms and add a fun pop of color! Of course you can never go wrong with a classic white too. Here are some colors to check out.
